Day 2

Yesterday, Ben and I explored the local Whole Foods to see what we could see. I'm excited to start eating more healthy foods, even if it means the grocery bill will be a little higher. We each decided to try some new things to experiment with - Ben got organic soda and I got veggie straws (which are really quite delicious!) We'll have to see if this change in lifestyle will be sustainable...I certainly hope so!

I love Whole Foods, in spite of the higher grocery bill. Might head over there today actually...

My vice is their bakery and cheese sections though. They may be natural and fresh and all, but they aren't exactly good for me. Carrot cake to die for!

Organic soda? Does that mean it's organic HFCS? Still probably the same net calories and effect. *shrugs* Very interesting...

Oh how I wish we had a whole foods closer to us :-( The tiny natural foods store (which doesn't carry anything fresh, just packaged stuff) is going out of business, which makes me sad. At least I could by bulk organic flours and dry beans and pasta. Alas, it is no more.

But the best thing ever is farmers markets - find one near you, and do it. Or a CSA. You get tons of fresh foods and you will HAVE to eat better :-)
