RevGal Friday Five: Homage to the Top Chef

1. If you were a food, what would you be?

Chicken Noodle Soup. Comforting and familiar, most people like it, and it's good for you. ;-)

2. What is one of the most memorable meals you ever had? And where?

Actually, it was at this French Restaurant in the theater district called Pergola Des Artistes. Affordable, delicious French food. I've eaten there twice now, and each time I wasn't disappointed.

3. What is your favorite comfort food from childhood?

Mac 'n' Cheese...

4. When going to a church potluck, what one recipe from your kitchen is sure to be a hit?

Well, I haven't made many casseroles lately (I love how I automatically equate church potluck with casseroles). But my mom has a macaroni salad recipe that is absolutely delicious! Not too heavy on the mayo or the oil, with delicious veggies and pasta. Mmm!

But I also cook a mean broccoli almond stir fry...

5. What’s the strangest thing you ever willingly ate?

Lobster Ice Cream. Don't try it, it's gross. Why waste the lobster?

Bonus question: What’s your favorite drink to order when looking forward to a great meal?

It honestly depends on the meal (and who's paying ;-)). Generally, I just order water, but occasionally I'm a bad Methodist and go for the wine or a Guinness. That'll have to stop...

My kids love mac and cheese, but I don't remember eating it much as a child. Funny how some foods travel from one generation to the next.

oh you thought alligator was gross but you ate "lobster ice cream" augh man that sounds nasty! barfola! and why does the once in a while glass of wine or Guinness have to stop? Drinking Guinness is good for the soul... I'm positive Luther would agree anyway. :)

It is said that Martin Luther believed that when one prayed with Jesus that God would provide this day "our daily bread," that meat, cheese, and plenty of good beer was what Jesus had intended. I'm good with that.

I had Stout ice cream while in Jamacia. It was fair.
I guess I'd be a bad Methodist too! I love wine and Guinness (actually a fav is Black an Tan).
Not sure how that puts me as a Presby!

Lobster ice cream *cack*cack*! I am allergic to shellflish, so no danger trying that.

And don't give up the wine or Guinness. No one'll know in the privacy of your home and you can always wear a fake moustache in a restaurant.....

Chicken noodle soup, that is a good one. Wish I would have thought of that.
Good play.

Wow - lobster ice cream! When I was in Brazil I saw some very interesting flavors of ice cream but made with vegetables, not shellfish. I don't think I could do it. You're very brave! Good play. :)

My beloved man Marty might have needed a twelve step program as he said when things got rough- copious drinking could help. Hmmm... ;-)

Lobster ice cream???? Sounds like some experiment gone really bad. What a waste of lobster and cream!

Both your potluck choices sound great. And I agree with the others--go for the Guinness, especially if someone else is buying :)

I don't think it's such a waste of lobster - more like a sinful terrible awful going straight to hades waste of ice cream! :) I love ice cream.

Hmmm Guinness - there's nothing wrong with that every now and then. Now, "Lite Beer"? There's something very wrong with that :)
